Abstract:

This study first deepens the concept of strategic reading. Combined with the

characteristics of scientific papers， this study classifies the reading strategies of scientific

papers into three categories ： using prior knowledge and experience， understanding and

decision-making， self-regulation and control; classifying the reading tasks of scientific papers

into retrieval tasks， understanding tasks and accumulation / browsing tasks. On this basis， this

study also designed a semi-structured interview， through the in-depth analysis of the interview

results. It finds that a strategic reading mode of“retrieval—browse—deep reading”for scientific

papers. At the same time， the research further summarizes the needs of strategic reading，

which are mainly reflected in four aspects ：“quick grasp of the full text structure”，“accurate

positioning of specific content”，“accurate control of the reading process”，“extended reading

of specific content”.
