Study on the Innovative Development of Integrated Operation of Libraries and

Abstract:

In order to better meet people’s new demand for high-quality public cultural services
and diversified reading in the media convergence environment， the organic combination of the
advantages of Xinhua bookstores and resources of libraries to innovate the business management
model of public libraries is a useful attempt to transform， upgrade and integrate the innovative
development of libraries and Xinhua bookstores. This practice of integration of libraries and
bookstores not only has a solid theoretical foundation， but also has relevant case experiences to
learn from. However， at this stage， there are still barriers and model-level development dilemmas
in this integration. This paper proposes an innovative model for the integration of libraries and
bookstores that integrates new services， new supplies， new operations， and new outlooks under
the guidance of public reading space and symbiosis theory， and provides an outlook on its future
development in terms of revenue generation， attraction， evaluation， and demonstration.
