Abstract: This study explores the distinctive features of academic journal publication at theUniversity of Chicago Press. In terms of content management， it encompasses an academicallyoriented publishing positioning and close linkage with the university’s superior disciplines.Regarding business management， it incorporates the international business operations，specialized editorial process， hybrid OA publishing and flexible pricing strategies. Building uponthese insights， it draws valuable lessons from the University of Chicago Press’s pioneeringacademic publishing experiences， offering guidance to the development of academic publishingamong Chinese university presses
