Abstract:

This paper takes the Japan Foundation, the most important platform for promoting

public diplomacy in Japan, as an example, and analyzes the characteristics of its overseas

publication and dissemination channels, modes of dissemination, and dissemination audiences

from the perspective of public diplomacy. Based on its publicly available relevant data from 2003

to 2022, the Japan Foundation’ s overseas publication and dissemination practices are reviewed

and analyzed in aspects of funding the translation and publication of books overseas, creating

a wealth of public welfare digital publications, donating books to overseas and participating in

international book fairs overseas. Drawing experiences and insights, this paper hopes to promote

the development of overseas publication and dissemination in China.
