Abstract:

The“Community-run journals”model implemented by the Swiss Frontiers

Publishing Group is currently the advanced mode of running a magazine in the world. This model

realizes the concept of closely uniting researchers and being led by researchers， which from

five aspects， selects the editorial board from the sub-discipline， gives the editorial board the

editorial role， editors can review papers independently， editors can organize “academic topics”

independently and establishing the LOOP academic social network. This article takes the Frontiers

in Pharmacology journal of the Frontiers Publishing Group as the research object， and uses the

case analysis method to introduce in detail the specific measures of the magazine to implement

the“Community-run journals”model and analyze the advantages of each measure， in order to

provide reference for sci-tech periodicals in China to change publication mode.
