Scientific Nature in Children’s Science Picture Books

Abstract:

The scientific knowledge conveyed by the popular science picture books for
children has its own uniqueness. It should not only convey accurate and “recognized” scientific
knowledge, but also convey correct ways of scientific thinking. The representation of scientific
images in picture books is mainly through idealized paths. Pragmatic direction is an important
reference to judge whether idealization is reasonable or not. At the same time, it is important to
avoid the distortion of science. In addition, it is also necessary to construct the creation strategy
of popular science picture books from the aspects of narrative methods, narrative clues and
narrative perspectives.
