Abstract:

Focusing on two mobile Apps“WeChat Reading”and“WeChat Listening”,
this paper conducts a quantitative and qualitative empirical study on the current situation of
mobile new media audiobook users from perspectives of content, form, scene and satisfaction,
and discusses the problems and development of audiobook communication on this basis. At
present, the communication of mobile new media audio books contains two counterpoints of
voice and expression :
“AI voice - text audio”and“real person voice - spoken language
communication”. Users use the two basically equally. Users listen to the content of literature,
the overall “emphasis on the text, light theory”, and most of the content has nothing to do with
the user’s own occupation(professional). The bedroom at night and the family living space
during the day are the main communication scenes, and“time management satisfaction”,
“emotional satisfaction”,
“physical satisfaction”,
“knowledge satisfaction”and“economic
satisfaction”constitute the main use satisfaction of audio book users. In general, the limitation
of content, the closure of the scene, the interaction of communication and the artistic quality of
sound are the four important issues facing the future development of mobile new media audio
books. Whether the development of audio books can enter a new era depends on the response
and innovation of practice to these four issues.
