Abstract: The article proposes that constructing an independent knowledge system for Chinese publishing studies requires adhering to the integration of Marxism and excellent traditional Chinese culture， proceeding from the realities of China’ s publishing industry， and excavating new materials， discovering new problems， proposing new viewpoints， and constructing new theories. At the same time， it is necessary to broadly draw upon the experience of China’ s outstanding publishing culture， making it the cornerstone of the edifice of an independent knowledge system. Based on contemporary Chinese publishing practices， it should build the skeleton and trunk of the independent knowledge system for publishing studies， forming the main supports of the independent knowledge system for Chinese publishing studies．
