Knowledge Map Analysis of Digital Reading Research in China: Based on CSSCI

Abstract:

Based on 905 digital reading research papers from 2001 to 2021 in Chinese Social
Sciences Citation Index(CSSCI), this paper made a knowledge map with visual analysis tools
CiteSpace and VOSviewer to identify the core authors, research institutions, important journals and
knowledge sources of digital reading research in China; also summarized the hotspots of digital
reading research and their achievements which comprised mobile reading, online reading, e-book
reading, social reading, digital reading in related fields and so on. Some trends of digital reading
research are find out that the new form of digital reading products represented by audio books
have attracted more attention from researchers; based on the new generation of Internet, mobile
reading and social reading have become the new research directions; and the methods used in
digital reading research are more diverse. In the future, some deficiencies in current digital reading
research needs to be improved, like the insufficient of basic theoretical research and the lack of
research on mainstream people and other typical reading groups such as the elderly and dyslexia.
