Abstract:

The system of book selection and decision-making is an important management
system of Harvard University and Yale University Press. This paper reviews the process of the
establishment and improvement of the publishing decision-making system of the two university
presses,as well as the functions, composition and operation mechanism of the decision-making
bodies. The results show that the publishing decision-making body composed of well-known
professors strictly reviews the topics and manuscripts, and makes the decision whether to publish
or not; the strict publishing decision-making system ensures that the two university publishers
are always committed to publishing high-quality academic works, and at the same time avoids
the adverse impact of personnel changes or other factors on the development of the publishing
house,so as to grow into a world-class academic publishing house.
