Abstract:

Drawing upon case studies conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, this article
proposes an emergency strategy model for knowledge services(ESKS model)in publishing
enterprises. Informed by Mintzberg’ s emergency strategy theory and Boyd’ s “OODA
Loop” process structure, the model argues for proactive development and implementation of
comprehensive knowledge service strategies to effectively respond to emergencies. This entails
optimizing resource allocation, establishing robust emergency alert systems, strengthening
digital publishing businesses, constructing influential proprietary platforms, and actively
engaging in relevant publishing alliances. By pursuing diversified advantages among enterprises
and continually enhancing their capacity and effectiveness in handling emergencies, publishing
enterprises can thrive in such challenging situations.
