The Reference Significance of Leveled Reading in America for the Development of
Children’ s Leveled Reading in China :Taking Leveled Reading of Reading Wonders

Abstract:

Taking Leveled Reading of Reading Wonders as an example, the paper analyzes
and summarizes the features and experience of leveled reading in America by studying the
leveled reading systems, book compilation, relevance to school texts, text styles and implied
values. The paper suggests that we learn from the American experience by combining the current
development of leveled reading in China and claims that our leveled reading should be guided
by certain leveled reading system, combined with the school texts, dedicated to developing the
comprehensive reading ability of students, and oriented by Chinese cultural recognition and a
sense of national pride.
