Abstract:

Our Common Sufferings: An Anthology of World Poets in Memoriam 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, is a bilingual anthology published by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press in 2008. It includes 57poems,28 in Chinese and 29 in English. Each poem is accompanied by a translated version, English for Chinese and vice versa. These poems distinguish themselves by great sincerity in emotions. They not only exemplify the beauty of poetry but also convey the conviction of Chinese people: let’s face the adversities together and combine our efforts in building a new and more beautiful home.
