Abstract:

The Development Plan of the Publishing Industry during the 14th Five Year Plan
Period is an important strategic document of Party and Government of P.R.China on the
development of China’s publishing industry during the 14th Five Year Plan period. It establishes
the guiding ideology, basic principles, objectives, requirements, key tasks and safeguard
measures for the development of China’s publishing industry during the 14th Five Year Plan
period. Based on personal understanding, the author expounds his understanding of the spirit of
the Plan from four aspects : new requirements, new objectives, new tasks and new measures for
the development of the publishing industry.
