Abstract:

By using content analysis and bibliometrics, this paper made a statistical analysis
of the papers officially published in 8 core journals of publishing from January 2016 to December
2020, and then utilized CiteSpace for visualization. The results indicate that the number of
papers using quantitative methods in publishing is relatively small, accounting for less than
7%. Although types of quantitative methods used are diverse, application of new methods is
insufficient, and subjects of quantitative research are fairly single. There is also a problem that
method does not match purpose. In the future, publishing studies should standardize research
methods, pay attention to absorption of new methods, optimize use of quantitative methods,
and try to combine quantitative and qualitative methods to be more suitable for research
purposes.
