What Kind of Knowledge System Do Postgraduates of Editing and Publishing Need:
Based on The Content Analysis of The Required Bibliography of Postgraduates in Editing and Publishing in Some Colleges and Universities in China

Abstract:

In this study,192 required reading bibliographies from ten representative
universities are selected as samples,and the required reading bibliographies of editing and
publishing are counted by the method of content analysis. 5 categories,9 first-level coding
fields and 12 second-level coding fields are summarized,from which the basic features of the
professional knowledge system of postgraduates in editing and publishing are extracted and
summarized. It is found that there are some problems in the knowledge system of editing and
publishing postgraduates,such as insufficient breadth of knowledge,narrow field of view,low
proportion of practical knowledge and lack of era and frontier knowledge content. In view of above
problems,this paper puts forward some suggestions on improving the speed of knowledge
updating,using integrated knowledge to solve the new problems encountered in publishing
practice,and constructing a compound knowledge system of master’s talents in order to adapt
to the development of the times and the reform of the publishing industry.
