The historical value and contemporary significance of printing culture and
publishing culture

摘要:

基于科学技术与社会(Science,Technology and Society,STS)理论,综合考量
科学技术与社会文化的互动发展,深入思考印刷文化和出版文化的建构基础和历史价值,探寻两
种文化的当代意义。研究发现,印刷文化是印刷复制技术与社会文化千年互动的结晶,是出版诞
生的思想基础 ; 出版文化是人类知识生产及文化传承的基础和核心,引领出版嵌入知识生产,深
刻影响人类知识活动。两种文化赋予出版系统存储、规范生产和稳定传播知识的天然禀赋,并将
人工智能时代出版锚定于知识生产和知识服务领域。

Abstract:

Based on the theory of Science, Technology and Society(STS), comprehensively
consider the interactive development of science, technology and social culture, deeply consider
the construction basis and historical value of printing culture and publishing culture, and
explore the contemporary significance of the two cultures. It is found that printing culture is the
crystallization of the interaction between printing reproduction technology and social culture for
thousands of years, and it is the ideological basis for the birth of publishing. Publishing culture
is the foundation and core of human knowledge production and cultural inheritance. It leads
publishing to be embedded in knowledge production and has a profound impact on human
knowledge activities. The two cultures endow the publishing system with the natural endowment of
storing, standardizing production and stably spreading knowledge, and anchor the publishing in
the era of artificial intelligence in the field of knowledge production and knowledge service.
