Abstract:

 The reform of university presses, which has been hotly debated these years, started in April 2007.
Firstly , this thesis introduces the background of the reform of university presses. It points out that the reform should n
ot be the production of political policies but should base on the basic attribute and reality of university presses. Secondly, it indicates several misunderstandings about the reform of university presses. Finally, it discusses the ways of
the reform of university presses, for instance whether the university presses should be enterprises after the reform,
whether they should be reformed partly or completely and how to perform the reform policies, etc.
