A Review of Virtual Reality Media Research

Abstract:

On the basis of a systematic review of the literature in this field, pointed out that the
media shift of virtual reality has been a hot topic of academic attention at home and abroad in
recent years; found that the academic community has focused on the multi-dimensional properties
and the definition of virtual reality media; reviewed the applications of virtual reality media in
various industries and the impacts, found that it has changed the content creation and audience
perception in the fields of journalism and film, and the combination with games has led to further
discussions on its realistic impacts while expanding the application scenarios, and triggered further
discussions on its real-life impacts. In addition, presented a critical view of virtual reality media,
namely, that while it conceals the transmitter and highlights the subjectivity of the audience, there
are also concerns that the authenticity of the content overshadows the objectivity and degrades
the rationality of the audience.
