Abstract:
This study examines the basic characteristics of the scholarly communication behavior of early career researchers in China, which focuses on scholarly reading and publishing. The sample includes 13 early career researchers. In addition, the study explores the issue by semi-structured in-depth interviews and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis are performed. The result shows that early career researchers basically continue traditional scholarly reading and publishing means, but also shows certain specialties, such as information acquisition by mobile devices, publishing academic information on the information source at high speed transmission rate and attention to international cooperation publishing.
