Abstract:

As the core of the whole publishing work, the professional pursuit of editors is related to the
quality and level of publications. In order to do well in publishing jobs and produce excellent works, firstly,
the editers should improve their personality by practising“four directions and four actions”. Adhere to
the correct political direction and public opinion orientation, seriously play the role of“gatekeeper”; carry
forward the meticulous craftsman spirit, improve the level of business; establish the spirit of dedication,
maintain enthusiasm for editorial work. Secondly, they should be learning editors and continuously improve
professional abilities. Adhering to a rigorous educational attitude; learning from the older generation of
publishers, determined to be a grand editor in new era; find a correct role in positioning and grow with times.
Thirdly, they should actively devote ourselves to the new practice of editing and construct a theoretical
system of editorial thoughts with its own characteristics. In the practice of publishing, we should carefully
plan and create the brand of books and periodicals, innovate and create the theory of publishing thoughts;
study editing and publishing science based on publishing practice, and make the publishing discipline play an
important role in supporting publishing practice.
