Abstract:

The KMT makes use of censorship of books to dominant ideology. Relying on violence agencies,
the KMT authorities controls the space of literature. But the appeal of freedom, democracy, rule of law, and
human rights of liberalism writers becomes much stronger, and then evolves into“the debate of human right”.
In face of the common threat, liberalistic intellectuals and revolutionary literature writers reach the recessive
reconciliation to some extent. Liberalistic intellectuals are weak in front of the KMT authority’s violence, but
they construct the liberalism literature discourse in Shanghai based on the stable job, the position of giving
advice to KMT authority and seizing the opportunity of the internal conflict in the KMT government.
