Abstract:
Currently, most of the chief editors of university journals are part-time job, which mainly adopt the management mode of“ chief editor + executive deputy editor”. In this management mode, the executive deputy editor is the actual person in charge of editing and publication while the chief editor is only responsible for watching the whole work process in order to make certain all the things are normal. Although this management mode plays a positive role in enhancing the development of university journals, there are still some problems in practice. Therefore, It is necessary to improve and perfect this mode, so that some measures must be taken, including making the clear border of duty between chief editor and executive deputy editor, coordinating the relationship between the chief editor and the editorial board, the executive deputy editor and editorial department, establishing incentive mechanism and arousing the chief editor’ s subjective initiative, providing more and more chance to let chief editors be trained and their abilities of editing and publishing in practice be improved, actively promoting the executive deputy editors becoming the scholarly editors.
