Abstract:

In America, Li Qingzhao’s ci-poems have been canonized after its translation and publication.Li’s works cater to American readers’ reading appeal conducted by poetics, social thoughts and academic objectives. The translations of Li’s ci-poems take on pluralism, owing much to the translators’multiple cultural identities and their mixed translating tactics.Issued by American university presses and other distinctive ones,Li’s rendered texts are conceptually new and readable, and fulfill its canonization upon being selected into the canonical literature anthologies. To the great program of “Chinese culture’s ‘Going-out’”,this case study is undoubtedly of enormous referencing and enlightening significance in the source texts selection, team construction of translators, choice of translating methods, jointing with overseas publishers and canonizations of translations.
