Abstract:

Domain ontology plays a more and more important role in knowledge management and semantic web.This article explores the methods and the process of building a digital publishing ontology knowledge base based on thesaurus.The extraction and selection of descriptors，the establishment and revision of thesaurus，the building of semantic relationship between concepts， and the modeling of domain ontology are discussed.The modeling and visual display of the domain ontology is realized by Protégé.The system can provide a series of functions，including text automatic indexing，documental information’s semantic and visual retrieval，term service，etc.
