Chinese Images in German Books Market

Abstract:

The study aims at analyzing images of China that are reflected in publications in the German book market. It examines new German titles published between 2006 and 2014, which more or less concern China. On the basis of German translations of Chinese works and German original-published books about China, a thematic overview of the titles existing on the German book market is compiled. The it examines the political, economic and cultural framework conditions, which affect the German publications on China.
