Interpersonal Networks, Market Dynamics and Cultural Environments: On the Production and Dissemination of Tong Ya in the Qing Dynasty

摘要:

《通雅》是明末清初学者方以智的著作,这部书的生产跨越明清两代,却非作者一人之力,而是由亲缘、业缘、学缘、地缘等社会关系的众多人物参与《通雅》文本创作、抄写和刊印的结果。康熙五年首次印刷后,经历多次再生产,生产者既包括商业出版者,也包括士人和官学,出版市场中不同的牟利动机促使他们选择生产《通雅》。明末清初文化环境渐变,读者对“考究之学”的需求增加,《通雅》开风气之先,其传播与文化环境的转变趋势恰好同轨而行。该书的学术特征是乾嘉学术的先导,与《日知录》同样属于清代考据学的源头活水,在东亚朴学共同体的形成中占据一席之地。

Abstract:

Tong Ya is the work of Fang Yizhi, a scholar of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The production of this book spanned the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was not the author’s effort alone, but rather the result of the participation of many characters in social relations such as kinship, karma, learning, and geography, in the creation, copying, and printing of the text of Tong Ya. After the first printing of the Kangxi five years, through a number of reproduction, the producers include both commercial publishers, but also include the scholar and the official school, the publication of different profit-making motives in the market prompted them to choose to produce Tong Ya. The end of the Ming and early Qing dynasties, the gradual change of the cultural environment, readers of the “study of research” the demand for increased,Tong Ya to start the trend of the first, its dissemination and the cultural environment of the trend of change coincides with the same track. The scholarly character of the book is the forerunner of Qianjia scholarship, and Ri Zhi Lu also belongs to the source of Qing dynasty koanology, which occupies a place in the formation of the East Asian community of simplicity.
