研究世界上第一家营利性开放存取期刊出版商英国伦敦生物医学中心（ BMC）。介绍 BMC 的发 展历史和组织结构，包括业务情况、财务状况和社会影响，并总结 BMC 取得的成就。

Abstract:
Focuses on BioMed Central, the first for-profit open access journal publisher on the world. As a case study, the paper firstly introduces the development and organization structure of BMC. Then it probes into its main business, financial condition as well as social influences and summarizes the success which BMC has already achieved.
