摘要:

以近年来国际图书出版产业中主要企业的并购活动为背景,对四大图书出版战略群组的商业模式、盈利能力、威胁与反应进行分析,理解不同战略群组企业的并购动机、战略选择和主要结果。从自助出版、开放存取出版、订阅服务、规模和技术创新五个方向讨论不同群组战略选择的依据和未来的价值创造方向。根据丁焕明等人开发的产业集中四阶段模型,确定图书出版产业目前处于集中阶段。不同战略群组面临的问题与挑战各不相同,总体来说,并购的活跃程度有所下降,巨型并购机会增大。技术环境的动态性为并购战略决策增加了复杂性和风险。

Abstract:

Based on book publishers’ M&A and performances thereafter, this article provides a specific exploration on business models, profitability, threats and responses of four strategic groups in book publishing industry. Further analysis on strategy and focus of value creation finds 5 driven forces of M&A, including self-publishing, open access journal publishing,subscription,market share and technical innovation.In accordance to Grame K. Deans’  industrial life cycle model, the book publishing industry has stepped into the focus stage, while each group faces its own challenge.The industry may experience few M&As in the future,with some of which to be mega mergers.The benefit of A&Ms is vulnerable to dynamics of technology.
