Abstract: The fact that both the authors and the readers of academic journals are experts or scientific researchers in certain field decides the editors’ professional characteristics. The editors’ work are measured not only by such concrete assessment indexes as total cites and impact factors, but also by their persuit of professional success. Hence, the editors should balance the relationship between: the total cites and impact factors of the publications and the innovation of contents on their journals; their role as intermediary and guide; application of good service to edior and readers.
