Abstract:

Taking Scholarpedia as an example, the authors analyze the academic publishing mechanism based on wiki environment from four aspects: quality control, content organization, contribution evaluation and copyright management.
The paper points out that Scholarpedia has achieved some progress in mechanism innovation through balancing the traditional publishing model and the Wikipedia model, which provides some experiences for reference of the academic publishing industry.
