Abstract:

The idiom dictionary is an important component of Chinese dictionary system. The author inspects the
market and publishing of idiom dictionaries in China, shows the publishing history of the idiom dictionary in China, describes the characteristics and the developing course of Chinese idiom dictionaries in different times, areas and branches. Moreover, the author provides some positive suggestions for the development of idiom dictionaries publishing.
