Abstract:

Based on the theories of capital and cultural omnivorousness, this study explores the flow of cultural capital and social capital in social reading by analyzing over 220000 reading records and 15154 book reviews from 585 readers. The results reveal a homologous correspondence and transformation process between the two types of capital in social reading. After analysis, the research proposes a new positioning on social reading :a pathway for capital transformation, assisting individuals in transforming cultural capital into social capital through book reviews. Readers with a higher stock of cultural capital can attain greater community influence, achieve better dissemination effects, and actively engage in social reading.
