Abstract:
For an editor mainly engaged in editing the translations of foreign classics, his or her ultimate goal is to present readers with high quality publications. To achieve this goal, apart from improving his or her overall competence, the editor should consult reference books whenever necessary so as to ensure the faithfulness of the translated works. Feedbacks from the readers should be taken into account before a revised edition comes out. In addition, good personal relations with translators and due attention to translation contests of all kinds can also contribute in that these may offer a reliable access to excellent translators.
