Abstract:
This research discusses urban and individual differences in book reading. By using a multilevel analysis technique, book reading is analyzed from the perspective of both individual and urban characteristics. The analysis shows individual positions, family background and media use are all related to the book readership. In addition, culture resources of the city can also affect the residents’book reading. In the future, the researchers should pay more attention to multilevel factors.
