The Public Goods Attribute of Cultural Products

Abstract:

Accordinghg to the fundamental principle of public goods theory, the paper  explores the public products properties in cultural products and based on the non-exclusive, non-rival, exclusive and rival characteristics of public products, classifies cultural products into four following categories, pure public cultural goods,non-pure public cultural goods , club cultural goods and private cultural goods. On this basis, the paper further discusses the role of government playing in the formation of different categories.
