Abstract:

[Abstract] From the perspective of empowerment, interactive narrative can be thought as the transfer and
execution of narrative power. Point that the diversity and complexity of the narrative path under the introduction
of interactivity puts forward a higher request for the design of context and branch points. Focus on the branch
points in the interactive narrative game Lifeline, analyze the structure of these branch points with the help
of data visualization tool Gephi and social network analysis method; use statistical analysis to calculate the
weight of branch points; use the Toulmin Model to analyze the context and study the relation of key points
and the information in the context. Found that the branch points present a mixed-linear structure; the nonzero
weight is concentrated in a few key points; and the context information of key points plays an important role in
readers decision making.
