Abstract:

Cases about misuse of slight-pause mark in a Chinese sentence, which frequently appears in Chinese
newspapers and journals are classified, such as misuse between words, between clauses, before conjunctions, between
multi-layer words, between approximate numbers, between popular-used words, behind ordinals, between Chinese
book-name marks, and between quotation marks. The causes and correction of the misuse are analyzed. Meanwhile，
several standards to prevent from the misuse of slight-pause mark are proposed.
