Abstract:

Having experienced a golden development in the last twenty years of the last century, domestic editing
research, which was initiated more than half a century ago, has sunken into a state of stagnation. According to Thomas
Kuhn’ s theory of scientific developing paradigm, this paper analyzes the phenomenon in light of components of the
paradigm such as theoretical elements, psychological factors, ontological and methodological elements, and argues
that domestic editing research has got stuck with a routine crisis before scientific revolution. It also demonstrates two
points: the digital world that has taken shape, has gone beyond the bounds of traditional editing research; research
trend of stressing practice at the expense of neglecting theory has gradually resulted in editing’s self-emptiness. In this
situation, a new scientific paradigm, which conforms to humanism, as it always is, gradually shifts to scientism and
transforms the detailed research methods, is expected.
