Abstract: Individuals’ acceptance and use of technology directly influence the diffusion of new technologies and industry development. Generative artificial intelligence is profoundly reshaping the ecosystem of the publishing field, placing new demands on practitioners’ technological adaptation capabilities. Through integrative analysis of relevant empirical investigations and industry cases, this study systematically examines the adaptation challenges faced by publishing practitioners in the context of technological empowerment from three dimensions : tool adaptation, normative adaptation, and identity adaptation. Based on a systematic analysis of these adaptation challenges, the research integrates adaptive structuration theory with publishing practices to construct a systematic response framework centered on the constructive interaction of three structural sources. It proposes pathways to deepen the integration of technology into publishing practices by optimizing technology platform integration, strengthening organizational empowerment systems, and improving industry ethical infrastructure, thereby facilitating practitioners’ technology acceptance and adaptation. This study expands the application boundaries of adaptive structuration theory in the digital publishing domain, providing an integrated theoretical perspective and practical reference for promoting high-quality technology integration in the publishing industry.
