[Abstract] China had entered the historical process of reform and opening up in the last 30 years of the

century，and it is also an important period of development of contemporary Chinese Marxist press and

publishing ideology. Little known was that the famous scientist Qian Xuesen，based on his rich experience in

editing and publishing，and the basis of the thought of system engineering，put forward publishing science

as a whole concept. And then under the guidance of Marxism，he enriched and bounded the connotation of

publishing science from four aspects ： social value，basic principles，main process and team building. As a

result，a systematic scientific thought of publishing had been formed. Qian Xuesen’s thought of publishing

science had distinct characteristics of system engineering，and at the same time，it integrated politics，

science and practice. Studying Qian Xuesen’s publishing scientific thought has positive enlightenment value

to the publishing work at present.
