Abstract:

The paper analyzes the background of the emergence of the reader-oriented publishing concept. The
positive effects of meeting the need of readers on prospering the publication market have been affirmed, meanwhile the
negative consequences arising therefrom are also pointed out. An important view of the paper is that on the basis of
insisting the correct publishing guidance, we should meet the proper demand of readers under the principle of serving
them, guiding them and improving their quality, instead of catering to them blindly.
