Abstract:

Non-medical professional presses have great challenge in issuing medical books. Taking Huazhong
University of Science and Technology Press as an example, this paper reveals the strategies and positioning of medical
books published in non-medical professional presses, which take advantage of the institutions and resources of relevant
medical colleges. Relying on the teaching units, affiliated hospitals and research institutions of Tongji Medical College,
Huazhong University of Science and Technology Press has formed its own position for the medical books, including
teaching materials and tutoring medical books, clinical reference books and advanced medical books.
