Abstract:

Open Access is a new model of scientific communication system. According to the basic characteristics of OA
and partial modularization theory, and based on the rules of being functional, modular open and steady, this paper divides
the OA scientific communication system into four basic elements: its main activity modules, the participants related
to different modules, the function, purpose and control mechanism of the system, and analyses each of four elements
respectively and the relationship among them, and eventually constructs the general model of scientific communication
system based on OA and summarizes its distinctive characteristics by comparing it with traditional scientific communication system.
