Abstract:

Because woodblock-printed books of the Song Dynasty were very popular in books market in the Qing
Dynasty, their price increased drastically. This paper reviews briefly on prices of woodblock-printed books of the Song
Dynasty in the Qing Dynasty, compares them with salaries of officials, price of commodity of corresponding period,
analyzes the reasons of expensive prices from many aspects, and finally concludes that the phenomenon was due to interacted factors.
