Abstract:

During his thirty-seven-year career as editor-in-chief, George Horace Lorimer made Saturday Evening
Post the most important trademark in American magazine industry of his age. This article reviews the history of the
briefly, then probes into Lorimer’s editing thoughts and management tactics carefully, i.e., his
concern over the reader’s demands and interests, his advocation on the value of middle-class, his talent to get great
authors and painters and his initiatives in running magazine.
