Abstract:

Guangdong Province has a long history of publication. As early as in the Tang and Song Dynasties, Guangdong had official and private book carving.To the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the book carving of Guangdong tended to peak, was known throughout the country. Since modern times, with the entrance and communication of western politics, economics, culture and religion , modern printing and publishing activities was from Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macao regions into Guangdong, it was the originator of Chinese modern publishing industry. Guangdong occupies an important position in the history of Chinese publishing, left rich publication archives. In various historical periods of China revolution, Guangdong always was the prominent area of China revolutionary propaganda and publishing activities, people competed for books and periodicals was very fierce. Guangdong Publication Archives as the representative of a number of historical compilation, collation of the results, shows the publishing history and achievements of Guangdong area, provides important resources for large chronicles’compilation and publishing practice nowadays.
