摘要:

在担任主编的 37 年间,乔治·贺拉斯·洛里默缔造了当时美国最具影响力的杂志品牌,即《星
期六晚邮刊》。本文简要回顾该刊的发展历程,着重探讨了洛里默的编辑理念和经营策略,即从读者出发的办刊
理念,着力塑造中产阶级价值观,聚集优秀作者资源和创新杂志经营方式。

Abstract:

During his thirty-seven-year career as editor-in-chief, George Horace Lorimer made Saturday Evening
Post the most important trademark in American magazine industry of his age. This article reviews the history of the
briefly, then probes into Lorimer’s editing thoughts and management tactics carefully, i.e., his
concern over the reader’s demands and interests, his advocation on the value of middle-class, his talent to get great
authors and painters and his initiatives in running magazine.
