Abstract:
Modern French publishing industry, under the high-pressure policies of the feudal autocratic governance, had once stagnated. With the reformation of religion, books and newspapers had been smuggled into the country from neighboring countries continuously. From the perspectives of the material conditions of the printing industry, technology development and publishing control, a brief analysis of the background and the origins of this phenomenon is explored; and the relations between media and society, that is, the society provided favorable conditions for the spread of books and newspapers , in return books and newspapers affect the society, is probed too.
