Abstract:

Analyses the shareholders and stakeholders of university presses and the requests made by the colleges.
Probes into the difficulties that university presses and academic communication meet and the causes for which. Then points
out that sound and innovative business practices within the university press community instead of a radical restructuring of
the copyright regime such as open access is the best way to manage the crisis of scholarly communications.
